Authorizations for Use
As an Alarmed Carrier Hardened Protected Distribution System (PDS) compliant with the requirements of NSTISSI 7003, the instruction that governs the protection of unencrypted National Security Information, INTERCEPTOR is an authorized PDS option.
INTERCEPTOR can be used to protect networks transmitting data up to the TS/SCI level and therefore can be used on both SIPRNet and JWICS networks.
INTERCEPTOR also complies with PDS requirements outlined in:
- Air Force Systems Security Instruction AFSSI 7703 with ESIM 2009-1 Supplements*
- Army Regulation AR25-2
- Navy Instruction NAVSO_P-5239-22-2
INTERCEPTOR is listed on the U.S. Air Force Network Integration Center’s (formally the Air Force Communication Agency) Approved Product List of Alarm Systems for Protected Distribution Systems.
INTERCEPTOR is listed on the U.S. Navy TEMPEST PDS Approved Product list.
INTERCEPTOR has been exempted from Joint Interoperability Certification at JITC based on its classification as a physical security device.
Authority to deploy INTERCEPTOR within Army must be obtained from the TEMPEST at Ft. Meade (as is the case with any PDS installation).
*The Air Force ESIM 2009-1 authorizes, as an approved PDS solution, INTERCEPTOR monitoring flexible interlocking armored optical cables installed outside of hardened conduit up to TS, CONUS and Secret, OCONUS.
