Secure Passive Optical Networks Provide a Cost-effective and Secure Solution for Safeguarding Critical Network Infrastructure

Passive Optical Networks (PON) provide high-speed, high-bandwidth, voice, video and data service delivery over a combined fiber network; offering significant benefits compared to active Ethernet.  Alarmed-Armored PDS has brought an intelligent approach to the way the US government protects network infrastructure transmitting classified information. The combination of the two solutions, known as a Secure PON, is an important technology in today’s private enterprise and government environments, where reliable and secure communication networks are mission critical.

Corning is sponsoring a national webinar on April 16th where customers and partners can learn how to design Secure Passive Optical LAN architectures by adding optical network monitoring products and secure layer-one products.  David Thompson from Network Integrity Systems, maker of the INTERCEPTOR and VANGUARD optical monitoring systems will co-present with Mike LaValle of Envistacom, manufacturer of the TERMINUS Network Management System and David Eckell of Corning, provider of secure enclosures and optical cable; including flexible interlocking armored cable.  The presentation will begin with a Secure PON overview, move into a demo of the products, and end with a notional design discussion and Q&A.
