Network Integrity Systems Announces Dave Cunningham as New CEO

Hickory, NC – August 26, 2024 –Network Integrity Systems (NIS), a leader in optical sensing technologies for cyber, asset protection, and physical security, proudly announces the promotion of Dave Cunningham to Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Cunningham succeeds Joe Giovannini, who has led NIS since 2003, elevating the company to a prominent position within the U.S. Government and military cybersecurity sectors. Joe's leadership established NIS as a trusted and innovative leader in protecting national security information. As NIS expands into diverse markets and evolves into a comprehensive software company, Joe steps down to pave the way for fresh leadership to take the reins and guide NIS through this transformative phase.  Joe looks forward to spending more time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

Dave, formerly NIS' Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, played a key role in transforming NIS into a leading provider of optical detection technologies for diverse security applications. With over 30 years in the fiber optics industry, his expertise and vision have driven significant innovation and product line expansion, making NIS a comprehensive security solutions provider.

In 2022, Dave served as Board Chairman for the Fiber Optic Sensing Association (FOSA), reflecting his industry influence. Before joining NIS, he was Tellabs' Director of Global Marketing and in 2013, played a pivotal role in the founding of the Association for Passive Optical LAN. Prior to Tellabs, Dave helped shape the global IT network infrastructure at Corning Optical Cable and spearheaded Corning's Passive Optical LAN program.
