Hardware End-of-Life Policy & Notifications

Electronic hardware reaches the end of its product life cycle for a number of reasons, including: dynamic market demand, technology development, or new product innovation. End-of-life (EoL) is an expected and established part of the overall product life cycle, and as such, Network Integrity Systems (NIS) has established an EoL policy to keep customers informed of product line changes and to assist with product transitions.

The NIS EoL Policy represents all product lines manufactured by NIS and consists of 3 general categories of progression:

1) End-of-Sale
2) End-of-Upgrade Eligibility
3) End-of-Life

Below are the general policy guidelines for:

  1. End-of-Sale:
As a general rule, when products and or part numbers are primed for discontinuation, Network Integrity Systems will strive to provide a minimum 6 months advance notice of the affected products (part numbers, manufacturing date, and/or serial numbers) along with the forecasted end-of-sale date the affected product(s) can be ordered. Once a product enters end-of-sale, customers will have 12 months to purchase any specialty maintenance, warranty extensions or support programs.
  1. End-of-Upgrade Eligibility:
At times, NIS offers hardware upgrades for products in the field in order to improve the performance and capabilities of the systems. In general, NIS will strive to provide a minimum of 6 months advance notice of the affected product’s end-of-upgrade eligibility (part numbers, manufacturing date, and/or serial numbers) along with the forecasted date. Once a product enters end-of-upgrade eligibility, it is ineligible to participate in any new specialty maintenance, warranty extensions or support programs.
  1. End-of-Life:
At times and on rare occasion, NIS products reach the end of their repairable life due to obsoleted hardware components. At this point, the product is considered end-of-life and is no longer available for repair by NIS. Network Integrity Systems will strive to provide a minimum 6 months advance notice of the affected products (part numbers, manufacturing date, and/or serial numbers) along with the forecasted end-of-life date. Once a product enters end-of-life, it is ineligible to participate in any new specialty maintenance, warranty extensions or support programs.

All End-of-Life notices will appear on this page.  Sign up for NIS Blog post notifications to receive these and other notifications.
